The Magick of Runes
Predating the oldest religions, the origins of Runes lay in the distant past. Others say it came from the Etruscan written language. Mostly associated with Viking history as a written script and used on most flat surfaces such as tools, brooches, weapons and even gravestones The basest description of runes is a series of marks made by straight lines.
Found on a great many things, magick runes were used on everything from tombstones to sticks. So far we’ve only discussed runes as a script. Many things are to be considered when reading or writing with runes and several ways in which they can be read. There can be as few as 16 runes to as many as 33, depending on the script in question. They cover all sorts of things, from symbols of the natural world, like water, ice, sun and hail, through to symbols of the Viking world, such as warrior, cartwheel and horse.
Used as tools in rituals runes can be a valuable tool for you. Magick runes are used in wedding ceremonies like the Rune Stone Ceremony, the Sand Ceremony and the Rose Ceremony.
Using magick runes in divination is a delicate art. It is possibly the most common use for them in modern times. The first thing to do when learning to decipher the runes is learning the literal meaning of each one. Memorization of the meanings of rune names is only a starting point for you. From there you can do one of many daily exercises with the runes such as visualization and word association. Virtually any method of divination that you choose can be considered valid. Some runes are better for certain methods than others due to their characteristics. Runes are most often carved into wood, clay or stone due to the fact that these materials are better for scattering rather than laying them out in a pattern like you would Tarot cards. This is borne out by the desriptions of throwing or tossing the stones found in Norse literature.
Many other rituals using runes are out there for you to learn. Keep a journal of the guidance you receive, jump in and harm none. Dalvin Cook Authentic Jersey
