Even when we blow out the candles we are following a preChristian tradition brought to us by the Greeks. In this tradition on the 6th day of the month the Goddess of the hunt’s birthday was celebrated. The ancient Greeks celebrated the birthday on the 6th day of every month with a sweet cake made with honey and topped with burning candles.

When they blew out the candles the people would make wishes to the Goddess.

Well… who knew? Also thanks to Ranna for this spell. This wish spell is to be done on the day of your birthday. This spell requires the purchase of a new plant (preferably your birthday flower) but if the flower wont be able to grow in your climate or you can’t purchase one find a young tree growing naturally.

What You’ll Need:

• Your Birthday! (This is a Birthday Wish Spell!)
• Your Birthday Flower (a seedling is best)
• 1/4 of a sheet of paper and a Pen (with ink in your favorite color)
• Your Birthday Stone

Hold the stone in your power hand charging it with energy. Write your wish on a piece of paper. You can write up to three wishes onto your paper, but I think one is best. If you write one wish fold the paper once, if you make three wishes fold the paper three times. Bury the paper into your plant, as the plant grows so will the energies in order to manifest your birthday wish.

The question of; “Why didn’t my spell work” often comes up and that is what I am going to try to answer here. Think of the spell that you tried and did not seem to have success with; remember all of the elements that were linked together to work in harmony with your spell. Ok, now with you visualizing the spell, walk through it step by step as we go through some of the important factors that need to be in place to help you spell to work.

Many things work in harmony to make a spell work and to give it the strength needed to make it work well. The correct Moon phase is an essential key to the success in spell casting. Spells to rid you of things work best during the New Moon. Spells to gain things such as money, power, or other things that you wish to gain are best done during a Waxing Moon. Spells worked during a Full Moon are said to work the best because the moon is at its fullest making the magick most powerful when done at this time. If you are working a spell to make something go away then try working this spell during a Waning Moon to get the best effects.

The materials that you used during the spell are another important element to whether you spell works or does not work. Would herbs or oils help aid your spell to be more powerful? If you do choose to use herbs or oils then do your research to be sure that you are choosing the correct ones for the type of spell you are trying to cast. Candles and their colors also do make a difference. Do your research to be sure that you are using the most optimum colors for the spell that you are working with.

Take into consideration the spell itself and whether it is actually good or not. Some spells work better from one than for another but it also is possible that the spell you are using needs some rewriting because it is not a very good spell. It is also a good idea to be sure that you are in the correct mental form before trying to work any spell. Meditation is a positive way to start so you can clear your mind and then visualize what you desire from your spell. Truly feel the desired results of your spell and if it doesn’t work don’t be discouraged, just step back and look at the spell to find what went wrong and just try again. Keep in mind that if a spell does not work no matter what you try, it might be because it was not intended to work. There are some things that we think that we want but deep in our souls we know it is not what we really need in our life, therefore we are not putting our full self into making this spell to work.

One last thought, you feel that your spell didn’t work but how much time did you give it to work before you gave up hope on it and classified it as a failure? Not all spells are going to have an instantaneous result and you may have to be patient, giving it some time to see if your spell was actually effective.

Oh boy. This is a very interesting spell sent to me by email! Thanks Jane!  This spell requires a lot of items and you lose your soul and basically curse yourself. But if you are into that sort of thing…

Tread carefully… While this spell may seem like a joke, what is not a joke is inviting black magick, curses, or anything else  into your life.

What You’ll Need:

• the full moon
• a coven of 9
• one parent of everyone involved if you are under 18
• fake fangs
• fake blood fruit punch
• white candles
• chalk powder
• you

First get everyone and their parents and go out into the woods. (There may be werewolves around… this is the full moon! So BE CAREFUL!) Draw a circle with the chalk powder and place the person who wants to be a vampire in the center. Everyone there must chant one thousand times “No longer human. Vampire you have become!”. EVERYONE HAS to say it ONE THOUSAND TIMES CORRECTLY UNDER THE FULL MOON in order for this to work.

After you have successfully done this put in the fangs. Drink some of the blood punch (because I don’t recommend wine!) and sleep in the woods for 100 days. You must not come inside, you must not have human contact and you will become a vampire on the 100th day.

pot would be perfect if you can find one. You can sometimes find wishing wells at Wal-Mart or on amazon. If you can get a blue one then that would be perfect.

This is because you use it as a representative correspondence of water. Wishing wells are such a great addition to any witches daily magick rituals. If you can’t find a blue one then don’t worry about it.

Try to keep the magick wishing well in one place. This should be a safe and important place, like your place of magick. You should only move your wishing well to remove the coins from the base. If this isn’t possible you may stash your wishing well in a secret place in order to remove it when you need to. In order to magickally charge your wishing well you will need a coin and some bottled spring water. If you can’t find bottled spring water then you may use the freshest water possible.

The Wishing Well

Place the pot or bowl on a flat surface. Place one or two inches of water into the wishing well. While repeating this chant:

“Water magick fill this well

Creating for me, making real this spell”

Hold the coin (preferably silver) in your protective hand (usually the hand you write with) and visualize this well as a holder of untold and unlimited power. Imagine a a brilliant blue light radiating from the wishing well.

Remember to treat this wishing well like one you would outside your home. This means you should let the coins stay at the base of the wish well. When there are a lot of coins in the wishing well you may dry them off and remove them from the base. You should donate the coins from your wishing well. Never spend the coins from the wishing well on yourself as you made this offering to element of water to manifest your wishes.

Once you have removed the coins, clean and add fresh, new water to the well. Afterwards repeat the charging ritual.  You can also place other items in the wishing well as offers. Things like magickal runes, stones, and crystals are all things you may wish to add. It you switch between coins and stones, then it might be best to clean out the wishing well and starting over.

Are there any modern day witch hunts? Would you believe that someone would try to hunt down witches? I would be happy to tell you modern day witch hunts don’t happen in these modern times but that would be a lie. So many politicians, lawyers, public figures and even students experience their own modern day witch hunts just by admitting they are pagan. In paganism there is a term for letting the world know that you are pagan, it is called coming out of the broom closet. It is sometimes a similar and equally gut wrenching experience for some to tell others they are pagan. So many times people hear rumors and lies about what paganism is and what it stands for. Paganism is a wonderful nature based religions and some people don’t even know the true nature of paganism.

peers. These modern day witch hunts use torture tactics such as verbal and mental abuse.  It is sad to think even in these modern times, that some people are abused for following their own path. Even in progressive thinking communities’ paganism is looked down upon. This proves how ‘progressive’ these communities truly are. Modern day witch hunts happen to good people just because they believe something different. People are east to accept the conventional views of religion and even are more accepting of different religions like Islam, Hinduism and Buddhism. What would make certain religions more acceptable than others?

We need to try and educate people on the true nature of witchcraft and help them to understand what magick really is. If we answer their questions in a non abrasive manner then we can dispel some of the ignorance in the world regarding Wicca. If you are not a pagan but feel these modern day witch hunts hurt our people, our communities and our country, then simply correct the wrongs you may come across. This is another one of the greats spells sent in to the website. The writer suggests you do this spell on a Sunday during the waxing moon. I love levitation spells. This spell won’t give you the ability to levitate on command or fly straight in the air after school but your should feel the levitation sensation. Your will power and concentration will determine how high you will be able to levitate.

Meditation and concentrate are key elements to making any type of magick grow. Try to meditate daily to increase your focus, concentrate and empower your magick. These things aren’t learn overnight so don’t be to discouraged if you try a spell and it doesn’t work!

This spell is best done during a time of drought. Calling upon the Celtic water deity Boann to shed her tears and bring forth rain.

What You’ll Need

• a cup of water
• a lava stone
• hazel

Go outside with your items and look to the sky. Hold the lava stone in the palm of your dominant or power hand. If you are left handed use your left hand if you are right handed use your right hand.

NOTE: In rare occasions your power hand might be the opposite hand you write with. Do what feels the most comfortable to you.

While meditating silently, call upon the sky, water, air, and clouds to bring rain to you. Hold the lava stone up as an offering and chant the following:

Boann! The Time is Now! Release your tears, let them fall, end this drought Now!

Chant this until you notice the wind picking up. When the wind is strong enough take a pinch of the hazel and throw it to the wind. Leave rest of the hazel in a small dish or container as a offering for the powerful water Goddess Boann and thank her for the rain. Once you thank Boann release the wish of rain to the universe and delve upon it no longer! The rain should come immeditately after thanking her but may only last for a few moments. If the rain doesn’t come immediately just leave the offering and let it go.

You should write you own wiccan affirmations and use them daily. You should try to focus on changing your tune. What are some of the thing you want to work on? Confidence? Self-esteem?

If you lack confidence then try writing an affirmation stating your confidence. “I am beauty, fun, happy and energetic.”  Write and say your affirmations both night and day and throughout the day if you can. Do this for a minimum of 21 days and watch the changes within yourself.

You can find visualization and wiccan affirmations  videos on you tube to watch often. It is important to feel good feelings, and your inner magick and intention will work to help make those changes real for you.
